More variants of existing devices? Oh yes, Samsung isn’t done with
that endeavor – we’ve received inside information that the Korean
manufacturer will be launching “Black Edition” variants of the quad-core
Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S4 mini sometime in February. The latter will
be available in a dual SIM variant – that’s all the info we were given,
but we’re keeping our fingers crossed both devices are fully black in
color, which would accentuate the deep blacks of their Super AMOLED
displays.
The hardware should otherwise remain the same – a 5-inch 1080p
display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel
camera, 16GB storage and microSD slot, and a 2,600 mAh battery on the
Galaxy S4, and a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of
RAM, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8-megapixel camera, 8GB of storage, and 1,900
mAh battery on the Galaxy S4 mini. Both should be running Android 4.3
out of the box, or at least have the update available instantly.
