The second edition of the
HTC One 2, codenamed M8,
has appeared in the Wi-Fi certification database, carrying both 2.4 GHz
and 5 GHz bands, as any self-respecting flagship these days.
This
means we are one step closer to its release, and as far as hardware
upgrades go, they don't sound very significant - Snapdragon 800 instead
of the 600 in HTC One, an UltraPixel camera, and BoomSound dual stereo
speakers. The kicker is in the design difference, though - still a
premium aluminum body with undescored metal texture, but also a much
larger, 5" or even 5.2" display. The software department is also likely
to see an update to Android 4.4 KitKat with a brand new HTC Sense 6.0
skin.
Release date is scheduled for some time
in February, which could mean the
HTC One 2 ( M8) handset might very
well turn out to be the first brand-name flagship on sale next year.
