Late Friday, we told you about the Android 4.4.2 update being sent out to the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition, and the HTC One Google Play edition.
We told those with the Samsung Galaxy S4 GPe to check for the update
since it would make sense for it to arrive at the same time that the
other devices received their update. Android 4.4.2 brings some necessary
bug fixes, and also removes App Ops from the OS. The latter allowed
Android users to control which data a third party app can have access to
and Google said it had been mistakenly part of the OS since Android 4.3.
So
if you own the GT-i9505G, you should have received software version
KOT49H.S0001.131204 via an OTA update. This is exactly why you made that
tough decision to blow off TouchWiz, so you can be ahead of all of your
friends and family and sport the latest Android build ahead of
everyone.
The Android 4.4.2 update weighs in at 57.4MB, and if
you own the Samsung Galaxy S4 GPe, keep an eye out for the notification
that the update is ready to be downloaded and installed on your phone.
If you don't feel like waiting for the update to hit your phone, click
on the XDA sourcelink below to manually yank out the update directly
from Google's servers.
