Android 4.4.1 Update for Nexus 5  brings major camera improvements.

As we reported yesterday that Android 4.4.1 Now Testing for Nexus 4,nexus 5,nexus 7 by Google ,Google has started rolling out Android version 4.4.1 to Nexus 5 devices now. The update will mainly bring along some major improvements to the camera performance on the recently released Nexus 5.The update brings in much needed camera fix for Nexus 5 there by making the pictures taken by the device much better at least so does claims Google. As mentioned, the new software greatly improves the device’s camera, with more natural colors, faster white balancing, and better low-light performance all promised. Additionally, focusing is faster, while shutter lag has been addressed as well.

In a Google+ post for the official Nexus page, Google wrote that the HDR+ was coming to the camera on the Nexus 5 alongside the Android 4.4.1 rollout. The camera boost will see users being able to take “great shots in challenging environments”.Say if there’s a large contrast of bright and dark portions of the scene or there’s a shot you need to take in lowlight, HDR+ will be able to let you take a burst of shots with a single click to the shutter button. Instead of just one picture, it will take multiple shots in about one third of a second and apply computational photography to fuse images together.
Now, this feature gets a boost with an update to Android KitKat that Google says has already started to rollout to Nexus 5 devices today. The camera will let you now focus faster, especially in low light, faster white balance, truer colours, the ability to pinch-zoom the viewfinder in HDR+ mode and, most importantly, less shutter lag.

There can be no debating on the fact that Nexus 5 is device worth every dime as specs wise it’s a beast of a phone packing in a Snapdragon 800 quad core CPU clocked  at 2.3 GHz coupled with a 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. Priced at INR 28,990 for 16 GB variant it seems like a cracking deal. But we felt and also reported by many users camera quality was  a miss  and now an update to fix this would make Nexus 5 a more promising device then ever. So those of who already own the device get downloading and those in market to buy one go for it.
