Airtel to launch 4G LTE services in Bangalore in three weeks
Airtel users in Bangalore won’t have to wait too
long to start using high-speed 4G on their mobile devices. Bharti
Airtel is all set to bring 4G services to users in Bangalore this month.
Earlier today, Airtel India tweeted,
“Only for #airtel #Bangalore mobile customers, enjoy #airtel4G on #LTE
enabled smartphones in 3 weeks. More details to follow soon!”
According to TelecomTiger, Bharti Airtel has successfully
completed the trials of CSFB technology in the cities of Pune, Kolkata
and Bangalore in February 2013. It had acquired 49 percent interest in
Qualcomm AP’s India entities that hold BWA licenses in Delhi, Mumbai,
Haryana and Kerala.
Airtel to offer 4G in Bangalore
Last year in May, the telco had selected Chinese Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) solutions giant Huawei, to plan, design,
supply and deploy its TD LTE (4G) network in Karnataka. It has already
launched 4G services in
Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali.
We’ve
been hearing about Reliance 4G launch plans for a while now. It is
expected roll out the services in the next two months. Samsung has
bagged Rs 7,500 crore deal with
Reliance Jio Infocomm
for latter’s 4G LTE network. Samsung has supplied around 14,000 BTS to
Reliance, so far. The phone will reportedly also provide smartphones and
tablets capable of using Jio Infocomm's 4G network.
